THE LAST SNAKE RUNNER
The jacket art for The Last Snake Runner is gorgeous, eye-catching, and very unusual.
The artist is Joel Nakamura from Santa Fe, New Mexico. His art can be found in galleries around the United States and he has done work for many venues and companies. In fact, he created the artwork for the opening and closing ceremony programs of the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics!
Joel Nakamura uses unusual mediums for his artwork, creating many of his paintings on sheets of tin.
The art director at Alfred A. Knopf books discovered Joel's distinctive talent after Kimberley’s editor bought the manuscript for The Last Snake Runner and were trying to match the book's style with just the right artist.
